Stupid Church People Podcast
Two cynical ex-pastors detoxing from church involvement. They consider themselves a "ministry" although I don't know how swearing, vulgarity and namecalling help bring people to Christ. When they say "stupid church people" they are obviously referring to themselves. [link]

Hello...
Steve from stupidchurchpeople.com here and let me set the record straight....
1) We have never called ourselves a ministry. Others have, but I can't recall us ever using those words to describe ourselves.
2) In the same vein....we don't claim to try and "bring people to Christ".
However, what we hope to be is a place where people (believers and non-believers) can hang out, be themselves, ask honest questions about faith, the church and our relationships with God.
Yeah... we are cynical... I think Jesus was cynical toward the Pharisees and we are cynical of what we consider to be a "pharisee" attitude amongst many in the church today. As a pastor of 16 years, I have been guilty of that attitude myself.
If you read the original post on my blog way back in April 2005 about why the site exists, I think you will get the idea of why SCP exists.
You are dead-on right about one thing though... we definitely consider ourselves Stupid Church People.
